“I’m honored by this show of support from so many incredible leaders,” said Rashid. “I hope to join their ranks after November 3 to work to move our country in the right direction. These leaders know what it takes to effectively represent the interests of their districts’ working families in Washington. I’m honored to have earned their trust that I will do the same once elected.”
On Monday, Rashid announced that he’d been endorsed by 21 local elected officials and community leaders throughout the First District. On Wednesday, Rashid announced that a further 13 members of the General Assembly had endorsed his campaign for congress.
Rashid will compete in the general election against independent Shawn Ponterio and incumbent Republican Congressman Rob Wittman on November 3.
