Rashid Campaign Takes Action to Save USPS
“We need to understand that The Postal Service is not a business. It’s a public service. It’s a public good.”
STAFFORD, VA – Qasim Rashid, Democratic nominee for U.S. Congress in VA-01 continued to speak out against the systematic dismantling of the United States Postal Service. Read his statement here:
“Trump’s handpicked crony Louis DeJoy is destroying the United States Postal Service,” said Rashid. “We need to understand that The Postal Service is not a business. It’s a public service. It’s a public good. Its goal is to ensure that Americans have the ability to communicate with one another and send critical goods like medicine. Its collapse will further devastate and decimate our economy.”
“Clearly, Trump and DeJoy are attempting to interfere with our election process,” says Ayodele Okeowo. “That is corruption plain and simple so our campaign is taking a stand. Next Saturday, throughout the First District, we will have supporters safely demonstrating and showing support and solidarity with the USPS.”
The Rashid campaign will be hosting a series of car caravan demonstrations in Bristow, Stafford, and Fredericksburg. Click here for more information.
Rashid has continued to sound the alarm on the Trump administration’s more recent undemocratic actions. Click here to watch a video of Rashid speaking about the USPS.
