Rashid Kicks Off In-Person Event Series with Rally in King William County Saturday, August 29, 10am

The Campaign will be holding events in all 20 counties (and the city of Fredericksburg) in VA-01.

STAFFORD, VA. - Qasim Rashid, Democratic Nominee for Congress in Virginia’s First Congressional District will be holding 20 events in every county (and the city of Fredericksburg) in VA-01 over the next two months. These events will be safe, outdoor, and socially distanced.

The first three events will be held this weekend:

Saturday, August 29, 10am-12pm 8306 King William Rd Aylett, VA 23009

Saturday, August 29, 2pm-4pm West Point Town Park 9th St West Point, VA 23181

Sunday, August 30, 2pm-4pm Molon Lave Vineyards and Winery 10075 Lees Mill Rd Warrenton, VA 20186

“The best part of this campaign is meeting people all across Virginia’s First District,” says Qasim Rashid. “Every county, every city, every town, frankly every neighborhood, faces different challenges and has different issues to be addressed, especially now as we’re facing the COVID-19 crisis.”

“These events are about connecting with voters and working with localities to ensure everyone has what they need to vote in the upcoming election,” Qasim continued. “Our events will raise awareness on voter registration, the absentee ballot request process, and make sure all of our votes are counted.”

“A few weeks ago we successfully and safely held a series of events all over the first district,” says campaign manager Ayodele Okeowo. “We’re looking forward to connecting with first district voters and learning more about the issues they care about. During these challenging times, we want to be as accessible as possible to folks all over VA-01.”

Republican Opponent, Rep. Rob Wittman has not held a public in-person town hall since March 2019.

Masks are required at every event and social distancing measures will be enforced.
