Rashid Campaign Introduces Compassion for Veterans Plan
“The First District is home to over 100,000 veterans and when I’m in Congress I’ll fight for every single one of them,” says Rashid
STAFFORD, VA – Today, Qasim Rashid, human rights lawyer and Democratic nominee for VA-01, rolls out his Compassion for Veterans Plan. The plan is available on Rashid’s website with an excerpt below:
“Military service has changed over the last fifty years. Ongoing combat operations lasting almost 20 years and multiple deployments of both Active Duty and Reserve Component personnel have created a group of American military veterans with unique support needs. More than 780,000 of these veterans live in Virginia, and more than 100,000 in the First District alone. These heroes deserve security in their lives, and it’s time to make sure each and every one has the health care, housing, and education resources they earned.” Read the full plan here.
“My brother defended our country for five years as a United States Marine. His service makes this policy proposal personal to me and to my family. The First District is home to over 100,000 veterans and when I’m in Congress I’ll fight for every single one of them. Here in Stafford, many of my neighbors and friends are members of our vibrant veteran and military family community. I’m proud of our campaign as a whole, but I’m especially proud of our veterans committee, who led the development of this Veterans proposal. Our veterans have sacrificed immensely for our nation and when elected I will deliver for these heroes.”
The Rashid campaign hosts virtual happy hours for veterans at 6 PM every Thursday on Facebook Live. Rashid has been endorsed by Common Defense and Taking the Hill, as well as Navy veteran and former presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg. Rashid has also been endorsed by Buttigieg’s PAC Win the Era. Additionally, Rashid is on Marine Corps Veteran Seth Moulton’s Serve America Watch List.
