Rashid Campaign Highlights Broadband in New TV Ad
“I believe that providing broadband access to everyone is the electrification of the 21st century,” says Qasim Rashid.
STAFFORD, VA – Today at 11am the Rashid campaign released a 30 second television ad titled “Homework.” The ad highlights the greatest issue facing Virginia’s First Congressional District, lack of reliable broadband internet access. The ad will run in the D.C. and Richmond media markets.
“The real First District families we see in this ad struggle with connectivity, ” says Grace Hagerty, communications director. “Everyone in the First District has seen families have to go to a McDonald’s parking lot to get connected for homework or to perform other day-to-day tasks. We’re proud to have broadband internet be a focal point of our platform because Rob Wittman simply hasn’t delivered.”
“I believe that providing broadband access to everyone is the electrification of the 21st century,” says Qasim Rashid. “This isn’t a Republican or a Democratic issue. It’s much bigger than party or ideological persuasion. Right now, for public health, prosperity, and safety, we must be able to rely on the internet.” Click here to read Qasim’s Last Mile Broadband Plan.
Rashid has written at length on the need to establish a rural broadband authority.
