Elected Officials, Activists, & Leaders Endorse Qasim Rashid

“We are building a big and diverse coalition,” says Rashid

STAFFORD, VA – Today nine elected officials, activists, and community leaders announced support for Qasim Rashid’s campaign for Congress. This list includes Congresswoman Jackie Speier of California and legendary civil rights activist Fergie Reid. Dr. Reid, a physician, became in 1969 the first African-American elected to the Virginia General Assembly, since Reconstruction. He co-founded the Richmond Crusade for Voters, served in the Navy during the Korean War, and is widely recognized as a Virginia icon.

“We are building a big and diverse coalition, united by faith and hope in America,” says Qasim Rashid. “I’m grateful for the support of such exemplary leaders. The people who endorsed me today have made powerful and positive impacts in their communities and houses of worship. I look forward to working alongside them when elected to Congress.”
